📋 Overview
This update brings a modernised new look to the PDF reports generated in YMS, with new headers and footers, along with updated formatting and styling throughout.
We have also introduced a smoother experience for completing and signing SMS/ISPS forms, added a new Purchasing Report and Shopping List, and expanded the available options for Inventory labels.
✨ New Features
Purchasing Report — A new Purchasing Report has been added under Quick Reports. Filter by department, order date range, and order status (open/shipped/completed), then generate a PDF that can optionally include each order's related tasks and line items.
Shopping List Report — Purchase Orders can now generate a Shopping List PDF directly from an order, listing everything on it for quick reference.
New Standard Inventory Label — A new label option alongside the existing barcode label: a text-only label showing item details without a barcode. Set your vessel's default label type (Barcode or Standard) in Settings, along with whether labels should include the item's location.
🛠️ Improvements
New PDF Report Standards — PDF reports generated in YMS now share an updated design language, including consistent headers, footers and styling. Our aim is to provide a more cohesive and consistent reporting experience across YMS, making reports easier to read, recognise across all modules.
Report Scope — The “Quick Reports” now open with a Report Scope section, summarizing who generated the report, when, and which filters were applied.
Maintenance History Reporting Additional Options — Generating a Maintenance History report now asks if you want to include the related checklist and/or comments. A Print button has also been added directly to an individual log entry, so a single Maintenance History record can be printed to PDF.
Report Sort Order Is Respected — Generating a PDF report from a grid you have sorted, now keeps that sort order in the PDF, instead of the report falling back to its own default order.
🐞 Bug Fixes
Date Fields Saving the Wrong Day — Date fields on Adobe PDF forms used in the SMS/ISPS Forms module could save as one day earlier than the date actually entered, based on the user's computer time zone. this has now been resolved.
📢 Update Notes for Users
Reports open as an on-screen preview. Every report window lets you check the content, scroll through it, and confirm it's exactly what you want before committing it to paper. When you're ready, use the Download button to generate & download the polished, print-ready PDF.
